Our annual fundraising banquet is on March 20, 2012. We are excited to have Pam Tebow as our guest speaker. Pam is the mother of NFL Quarterback Tim Tebow of the Denver Broncos. Pam has a compelling story that focuses on her refusal to abort "Timmy" when she was advised by Doctors to do so. She now has a national platform to encourage the pro-life message. Our 2010 Walk for Life began at Options Pregnancy Center and proceeded past the Cherry Hill Women's center and also the South Jersey Women's Center. As enthusiastic walkers took off, new friendships were made, and old friendships were renewed as we made our collective statement here in Cherry Hill. The last group returning to our center walked the entire route (about 8 miles!) and even collected our marker flags on their way home! Walkers returned to the center to find Mr. Softee waiting for them. It was a joy to see all the walkers, especially the children, walking around with ice cream cones in hand. As the whole staff wrapped up the details of the day, there was a sense of accomplishment in doing all things well for those we serve, the least of these.
The Lord used this Walk to increase our awareness of the impact of abortion in the community around us. Many walkers were unexpectedly touched as they passed the two abortion centers. The sight of women leaving these centers, clarified the reality of the life and death decision facing women in crisis pregnancy.
There remains much work to do in our region, however, the Lords hand is evident. It's your support, prayers, and participation, that continues to advance the Kingdom of God. Every gift we receive is a blessing, and helps us to know Options will be here today, next month, and next year.
Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men...
